Abigale Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Miller(born September 21 1965) is an American choreographer, dance instructor
and reality TV personality. She is the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company,
which appeared on the reality series Dance Moms for eight seasons. Miller was
found guilty in June 2016 to fraudulent bankruptcy in the felony category.
Miller was sentenced on the 27th of June, 2016 to one year and one day in
federal prison. Miller was released on in March 27th, 2018. In April of 2018
she was diagnosed with lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer that left her
unable to walk. She uses a wheelchair to aid in mobility. Miller was raised in
Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her teacher was her mother at Maryen Lorrain Dance
Studio. Miller was 14 when she was assigned the choreography and coaching of
one of her mother’s dance competition teams. Miller eventually assumed control
of the studio in 1995 , and changed its name to the company Reign Dance
Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America and was a member
of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter #10 in 1986 but her membership was
terminated in February 2012 and the DMA saying that Miller's reality-TV program
Dance Moms was "a total mistake in the representation of our dance
instructors as well as their students. It is damaging to the dance
industry."
